2nd ILLA Colloquium for PhD Students

Title: The meaning of the legal text.

Date: 5 September 2021

Organiser: Friedemann Vogel  (friedemann.vogel@uni-siegen.de)

The 2nd ILLA Colloquium for PhD Students will be held at the University of Alicante (Spain) on 5 September.

This colloquium was developed in the Heidelberg Research Group of Legal Linguistics—the oldest research group on legal linguistics in the world. The colloquium aims at providing attendees with an introduction to pragmatic legal linguistics. Furthermore, the colloquium is designed as a platform for international exchange between PhD students from all over the world.

The PhD Students' Colloquium aims to discuss different approaches to the description of meaning in/of legal texts. For this purpose, the participating doctoral students will first present their core concepts for discussion in 10-minute input presentations. Subsequently, selected texts of pragma-semiotic legal semantics will be discussed in the plenary session.

Habilitation candidates are also encouraged to participate.
